Reflection: Routine

This poem was quickly written one day, I felt overwhelmed by everyday life. Something big had happened and I had not even realized it had occurred.

Routine

days pass quickly,

events enormous in scope occur,

like most of the working stiffs,

too exhausted to notice,

or care,

life a hazy blur,

the monotony broken only by blissful sleep,

as the television drones on in the background.
