a river valley flows through the ranch of my parents,
the ranch sold,
but the river survives,
down among the trees by the river,
a village site,
of the ancient ones of long ago,
arrowheads found,
and bone and flint,
in the trees,
by the river,
that flows through my parents old ranch.
