Christmas

lost in painting,
yet Christmas is here,
struggling to find meaning,
a way out,
trapped in the chaos,
Christmas must be more than a feeling,
a time of good will,
still locked in a canvas,
afraid I will miss Christmas,
and its significance this year.

Snowy day

snow on the hills.
making creation seem so new,
yet cattle to feed,
and ice to break,
on this chilly December day.

sunset

sunset on a dry winter day,
no rainfall or snow for months,
the ground dusty and gray,
hopefully snow or rain,
a Christmas present,
on a cold December day.

Thankful

thankful for living my life on my terms,
in a place of space and sky,
free and clear from other lives,
forcing themselves on me,
a place where solitude respected,
and people truly care enough to leave one alone,
as we struggle together through this journey,
towards a final end.

thankful for having lived my life on my terms

Relics

relics of yesterday's dream,
a life of independence,
lived out on the land,
now a grave mark,
for a society that once was,
but is no more.

old times

old times,

with lace and doilies,

and dolls in rocking chairs,

colors together,

remind me of my grandmother,

and days filled with love.

Stock Chute

Stock chute by the old caking shed,
cattle shipped to town in the chutes,
while in the shed,
cake and salt piled to the ceiling,
memories of days gone by,
playing in the chute,
or sneaking into the shed,
to lick the salt block,
and gnaw on pieces of cake,
made of alfalfa,
laying on the floor.

walked across a number of times,
the water akin to time,
keeps on flowing by.

Autumn ?

Autumn on the page,
or maybe just lines and colors,
randomly selected,
the story never told.

Rock Formations

landscape from where I was born,

calls me back to  home and kin,

lost in the modern world,

I can't only sit and remember,

home and the bad decisions made.

cityscape

buildings touch the sky,

people akin to ants,

scurry every which way,

life in the city,

alive and vibrant,

just not for me.

Free running thru my mind.

leaves soon to fall,
snow not far behind.

A Mystery

a mystery from the past,

reminding us,

we are not all knowing,

we do not have all the answers,

much like the future,

the past still a mystery.

Painting

 paints on paper,

patternless,

colors seemingly picked at random,

complete,

a snapshot in time,

but of what ?

River

seen only by a few,

hidden by hills of sand,

a jewel,

sitting undiscovered,

in the middle of nowhere.

Fishing Pond

fishing pond,
place of childhood dreams,
northern pike, and large mouth bass,
days spent there,
some of the best of my childhood,
I remember the sun, the sweat,
and the joy of catching a large fish,
breaking the silence of the long hot day.

Summer Heat

summer sun beats down on the prairies,
lakes shrink,
and rivers disappear,
the land yearns for earlier days,
when the region more desert,
than plains,
ignored or avoided by the white man,
for centuries,
as native sons roamed the land,
and gave thanks for what was.

Sandhills

hills of sand,

timeless,

born in the time of glaciers,

changing and growing through the ages,

from childhood to adulthood.

the changes still continue day to day.

America

As President Biden fights for his political life. I would like to make a few points about why he is now in the position, he has to do the impossible, by showing Democrats he is capable, when they have known for years, he is not. Former president O Bama once was alleged to have said, "Biden could mess up a one car parade."

In the 2020 election, Trump didn't lose to Biden, Trump lost to Covid. Without the outbreak of Covid, Trump would have won the election. Covid allowed Democrats to hide Joe Biden in his basement for most of the campaign. Covid allowed states to ignore election laws, and  manipulate election laws, in the attempt to allow people more possibility to vote in the election.

Democrats have known Trump is more popular than Biden, and this is why they have continued to try and damage Trump's campaign and reputation. Through the trials and rehashing of the 2020 election they have said Trump is a threat to democracy, when in fact, it is the other way around. The Democrats were and still are the biggest threat to democracy. They now are willing to ignore the votes of millions of Americans who voted for Biden, and will decide who the candidate will be, mainly on the fact Biden loses to Trump. They also are in this situation, because of the way they lied about Biden. It isn't about democracy, it is about them losing power. Trump has never been a threat to democracy, Trump is and always will be a threat to the ruling elite. If Trump is allowed to win this election, he will damage the bureaucracy of government created to protect the elitists from the people. Whatever happens in this election, it will be an unnerving and dangerous time for America, regardless of who actually wins.

P.S.    Covid was worse in the United States than in many other less developed countries. Think back to what was happening when Covid was reaching America's shores. The democrats in congress instead of preparing for Covid, were in the process of impeaching Trump for a phone call to Ukraine. That fact and the fact that Obama Care has ruined and politized America's health care establishment allowed the USA to lose more citizens than almost any other nation in the world.

The Source

the river runs through the state,
bringing life,
a source of all that is good,
sacred in some, some many ways.

the brush not confident,

the artist confused,

yet the soul screams for expression.

Summer Memories

Summer days at the swimming hole,

The joy real,

Naked and free,

A modern Adam,

in an Eden all his own.

A Prayer

a breeze,

the breath of God,

serene and soothing,

calming both body and soul,

heart and mind,

reminding me,

we are not alone,

if we choose not to be,

Thank you God for your presence,

Thank you God for the choice.

Rights Endangered

Ukraine and Israel defend their nations,
to save lives and people's rights,
Taiwan and Hong Kong attempt to secure rights and traditions,
endangered by both enemies and time,
while here in America,
rights basically given away,
education, church and state,
all corrupt and rotting,
yet in different ways,
but at similar rates.
politicians, professors and priests,
perverts and hypocrites,
stabbing and chocking America,
and sucking her blood,
selfish, small people,
only worried of themselves,
and their status and wealth,
rights most endangered in these United States,
where people bought and sold,
slaves to the government out of control.

An April Morning

turtle doves,
gray and white,
chase each other from tree to tree,
zooming back and forth,
in erratic flight,
games of love,
or only messing around,
fifteen or twenty,
paired off in twos.
brings a smile to my face,
and a lift to my heart,
on this beautiful April day,
when the world of man,
seems on fire,
dumpster fires in every land,
created and manipulated,
by our own hands,
Gods, kind and knowing,
only in our own minds,
while turtledoves,
gray and white,
continue their erratic flight.

Hills of Sand

hills of sand,
paradise unknown,
except for a chosen few,
willing to live a life,
peaceful but hard,
devoid of people,
and culture,
false and fading,
the hills reality,
and the life lived there true.

a national park now,

Cranes

cranes soon here,
harbingers of Spring,
and the end of Winter,
residents wait with bated breath,
while strangers travel to view the spectacle,
returning with the cranes.
year after year.
