Autumn

Autumn slowly floats into view,

with changing colors of the tree leaves,

and birds making their annual trek across the plains,

the heart warms to early cups of coffee,

and the cats on the porch begging to be fed,

school kids on the sidewalk,

excited for the new year,

Pumpkins and ghouls,

soon to be on their way.

 

Faces

 

only globs of paint,

yet look closer,

see the eyes,

the faces,

are they animals, demons,

or just accidents,

and illusions of an active mind,

the answer unknown.

a walk in the park,

as fall nears,

beautiful and serene,

a place for renewal.

 

Sunrise by the River

Sunrise by the river,

my favorite place to be,

watching wildlife scurry to get a drink,

while the plant life reaches towards the sun,

with open arms.
